HEARING PROTECTION ACT

HEARING PROTECTION ACT - 02/23/17 04:12 AM

Americans won a great victory in the battle to restore and retain our Second Amendment rights for generations to come in the 2016 election.

With a pro-gun administration in the White House, and supportive majorities in both the House and Senate, it is time to go on offense; it's time to reclaim and expand our freedoms.

The best way to accomplish that right now is to voice your support for H.R. 367 The Hearing Protection Act of 2017.

This act would make the purchase of a suppressor identical to the purchase of a rifle or a shotgun, eliminate the $200 transfer tax on firearm sound suppressors, and refund transfer taxes on any suppressor purchased after October 22, 2015.

What You Can Do...

Right now, the Hearing Protection Act is in the following committees:

U.S. House of Representatives

House Ways & Means Committee

https://waysandmeans.house.gov/?utm_medi...jFJZkkzVVVQMSJ9

House Judiciary Committee

https://judiciary.house.gov/?utm_medium=...jFJZkkzVVVQMSJ9

U.S. Senate

Senate Finance Committee

https://www.finance.senate.gov/?utm_medi...jFJZkkzVVVQMSJ9

You live in a state with a representative or senator serving one of the above committees. Please reach out to your legislator and ask them to support the Hearing Protection Act.

Our friends at the American Suppressor Association have made it easy to do so. Follow this link. Fill in your data and click submit.

Easy. Although it wouldn't let me submit at first so I had to click on Message 2 and manually enter a subject before I could submit.

Just FYI.

Done. I don't like the form letter, but it's quick and maybe numbers matter more than content. Every member of this forum needs to do that.

The "James Show" in Central Texas, (Waco/Temple area) has Congressman Bill Flores on every Friday morning. Text your support to 254-229-4233, from all over the state, between 6 and 8 Friday morning. You can leave voice mails at that number, too. Please keep them polite. Any other radio shows with regular representatives we can contact for support?

Edited to add: Before I get corrected, I know the show runs until 9. But Bill comes on at 8am, and you can call him Bill.

They should also be forced to purge the suppressor purchaser database.

I'm a Texan stationed in Florida. This is an easy "calendar reminder" input on my phone, especially with unlimited data plans, no excuse not to send a quick reminder to keep it fresh on his mind. Thanks for the info!

I see it hasn't made it to the Subcommittee on Useless and Unnecessary Laws yet.

Actually it was incorporated into the SHARE act and passed the initial vote in the House Committee of Natural Resources a couple days ago. Up next is a full vote in the House of Reps.

If we package it with welfare handouts or alien amnesty it will fly through unimpeded. Every party needs to stand for something.
