Rumor Control .... US military lack of ammo / training (?) - 03/07/13 09:09 AM
Take this for what it's worth .... had an anonymous source pass this along.
I'm out at FT [base name withheld], just got back from my last tour, ETSing and getting out before it's too late. So out scout platoon, a vital part of any infantry company, goes out to the range often. We try to go today so some of the newer joes can learn some [censored]. We get told there is not enough ammunition, not even for the M9. That's [censored] 9mm. No way, no how we're out. And we're cut dry on 7.62 and 5.56. Supposedly. There isn't enough for training. We get told to purchase our own ammunition.
I'm anonymous in all this but someone needs to know. I get told by some buddies of mine, they were literally warned to not speak out in ant way shape or form against the current establishment and the president, our "commander in chief". So I saw some things about others being told that.
Its happening everywhere according to a lot of people I've know within the Army. And everyone is told that there are consequences. The training schedule for our brigade. Is literally empty. I've never seen it like that.
We literally, and were told this, have no funding. Yet TSA can afford new uniforms, HS (Obamas Gestapo) can afford 2000 or so MRAPS, and wish. They get rounds, hollow point at that from what I've been hearing. Cheyenne Mountain has been going crazy out here, full blackout some nights with convoys heading in with connexes then heading out empty. Its been rare, but we've never seen that.
Something is happening. We're doing 100% accountability f all weapons and equipment at [base name withheld]. And sending the reports on up. We've never done that. Only times our entire brigade does it at once is right before mobilization and deployment. And once after. We already did. Green on everything.
Doing it again and its mandatory reports to be sent in to higher here at [base name withheld]. Turning in vital equipment from what others are saying. Something's going on. A lot of us feel like they're practically disarming us. Like they're dismantling our military. I don't know if that's important or old news. But we're wondering. It seems like shits about to go down.
They literally said, "we can't give you rounds for training. Buy them yourselves."
That's the word.
Anyone else head anything even remotely like this from military friends?
