Ducks.

We have a chicken thread. Here’s a duck thread.

I’ve never had issues with ducks, until now. They are just randomly dying. A buddy of mine is one of the most knowledgeable people in the world when it comes to waterfowl. He hasn’t looked at the birds, but he can’t think of anything that makes sense, off the top of his head.

We feed them scraps. Is there anything we could be feeding them that will kill them? Any viruses or diseases? Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

We have a bunch of chickens, too, and they are not having the same issue.

They free range, for the most part, but we feed them any grain and vegetable scraps.

It’s never been an issue before.

any nightshade type of plant is toxic to them and so are raw beans.

Give them some steel, IM.

Then:

Duck Confit

Do not let them suffer from Duckvit.

......at this point it is a dog pile (sorry Sneak).

Any deer feeders around with left over corn from last year? It could be aflatoxin getting them.

No.

The dying stopped, for now, thankfully.

I have read that you should never feed them bread. Have no idea what it might do to them.

Turns them white, I reckon. We all know that’s bad.
