Are any of you using these in the home? Any experiences? These may be the future but the price still seems high.

I tried some in a bath fixture and returned them because the light only shined down. The way the bulb was made it cast a shadow across the top half of the room, almost like you had your hand over half of the bulb. Hard to explain and I think I saw some the other day that were full bulbs so they might be better. I've tried 3 different kinds of led's and I've hated all of them due to various reasons.

I put the Lowe's brand bulbs in my living room can lights and cannot tell a difference from incandescent floods. I replaced a few others in the house after these looked good; ones that get burned more than others. Lastly, I did put the "normal" looking style of LED's, same Lowe's brand, in the two, three bulb vanity lights in our master bath. These look good too.
The floods were about $25 a piece I think and the "normal" looking 60 watt replacements were around $10 each. We've been in our house now for almost 11 years and it was new when we moved in. Up until last year we had not had hardly any of the original flood or normal bulbs burn out so I cannot say I'm going to make my money back on these things via longevity. They should use less juice though.
