Just a doe…..

Just a doe….. - 10/13/22 01:46 AM

I’ve killed quite a few deer in my life. But none compare to the deer taken when I get to hunt with my kids. Both are grown and off in college now, but I am truly blessed. My daughter still finds time between college life, school work, and her job to come home and hunt. Like the song says, “she thinks we’re just fishing”. I think I need to write another verse, “ It will never be just a doe.”

I’m blessed for sure. And yes she can shoot. Gets that from her momma I’m afraid.

Now that a double whammy, getting to spend quality time with your daughter & putting meat on the table!

Well done!

Absolutely! It's never just a doe! I have a public land Booner on the wall and that pales in comparison to the elation I felt when my son and daughter took their first deer.

Great job, dad! up

Cherish this time with your daughter. When she gets older, she will remember how great these time with you are. They grow up so fast. I've been lucky my daughter at 32, still loves to go with me on our father daughter hunt every year.

Thanks everyone. There are mornings that I choose to sleep in. But if my kids ask to go, I don’t miss that chance. I’m just so glad they make time to come home and hunt. Soon they’ll be off on their own hunting journeys, but I’ll always have a seat for them.

It’s always fun to hunt with the kids or grandkids. My grandson is already to go anytime his dad or I go.

I was with my oldest granddaughter when she got her first deer a few years back, it took us a couple of years but finally got it done.
I was just as excited when she was.
Keep the kids hunting.
