What is your guess what happened to it. The buck seems to be fine otherwise.

Fence hangup or fighting wound, flesh wound no big deal...Rub some dirt in it and move on..

Looks like someone made a bad shot or he lost a fight and got hooked in the butt as he was leaving. From one angle it looks more like a pizz pour shot.

Looks like a bullet graze to me. Here's what it looks like when one is shot in between the legs when it's running away from you.....(by a guest hunter btw, not me) [Linked Image]

Looks a lot like when an old girlfriend's dog tried to run through a barbed wire fence. A few stitches and he was fine.

Betting that buck will be ok.
