deer getting nervy

With general gun season right around the corner, I am noticing the bucks are getting anxious, unsettled and wary.

He’s just trying to stay warm. 38 degrees there and it was summer last week

That guy was just getting comfortable while waiting for that feeder to go off. Fifteen minutes later the feeder went off and they were hurrying a little.

Mine are much more skittish. Stayed outside the feeder pen till I got through working on it.

It's been that way around here (North East Texas) since the second week of bow season. Normally, I can walk from the house to the shop with deer at the backyard feeder and they don't care one bit. Now they scatter as soon as they see me.

In eastern Oklahoma this week muzzleloader hunting. Saw bucks running does the last two days. It’s about to be on!

He looks pretty chilled to me protecting the feeder.
