Age/Score # 14 2020 - 12/07/20 10:02 PM

I thought I posted this buck somewhere before but it wasnt an age/score. He was killed yesterday right before dark. The good buck in some of the pics with him was killed at the same stand two days before at the same time. They ran together all summer then disappeared till the guys got on em this weekend. Tons of pics of him so I posted a bunch. For reference the rut is mid November and he field dressed 150 and was likely run down.
edit. Sorry, ill add that hes a 6x6 typical with 2 extras off each brow with a kicker off rg2 making him 17 pts.

Yeah, I planned on sending you an update. We went 4 for 4. Better bucks than my already high expectations.

Sorry im late with the dead pics. Killed late yesterday and just been busy. I wasnt there for the pic taking and I was thankful one of the guys was there to help since he was rushed to get out. The deers head and front end are closer to the camera than his rear and it gives him that big nose look and distorts him some. Remember he has the kicker off rg2 and another one off back of left brow that you cant see.

I don’t know the score, didn’t ask either. But saw the deer and he has good mass, but i have no idea how those little points off the brow score if at all.

My rough score for him has him right around 150, but probably a little low.

Nice looking deer with all the gnarly stuff around the bases well up into the g2’s

Very happy he was able to connect at the last minute of rifle season (ok)

I got ~154, give or take. His age is hard, I'd be guessing as he has some 7.5 traits, but also some 5.5.

Thanks Stetson, we have been blessed. Brand new lease and I had reason to be excited but we have out done my lofty expectations.

This is the buck that ran with the one in Texas Buckeyes long story in another thread. The dead deer pic in his thread has this deer with his. They were killed from same stand at same time two days apart.

As usual, most of the bucks getting killed of this place tend to grow when they hit the ground. He was officially scored at almost exactly 170. Never know on age for sure but as far as we can tell he was 6 or 7. Thanks for playing along.

He's a beaut! I'd say 6.5 on age & no idea (w/out peaking @ prior posts) on score.

eek2

Amazing

I would never have been able to get him to the high 160s-170 from the pics.

You guys have some amazing animals no doubt about it.

Not surprising, what was body weight?

Bobo, you have been absent from a bunch of my age/score threads over the last few weeks in which I talked about body weights and such. The body weights may not be as heavy as you might suspect but you are the expert on "red" deer. This guy field dressed 145. Our other Trophies here this year dressed 140 140 and 125. The 3 the family killed dressed 150, 152 and 195. The 195 they thought was one of the biggest they could remember.
Thanks for finally chiming in, you should spend more time on forum and hunt less......

101 -103 down and 68-70 up is what I added up before I read any replies. I would call him a 7yr old from those pics.

STx you are definitely good. Keep on playing catch up. You are behind on about a dozen age/score threads. I have really missed your input. I really wish you would check out the "field scoring comparison" thread.
