Tinks 69.

I have tried all kinds of BS over the years. Most is crap.

On a whim, I see some tinks69 in the discounted section of Walmart. 4bucks.
I bought two spray bottles.

Sprayed it walking to blind Saturday morning. Hit some high grass.

Within an hour I saw 4 small bucks and one medium sized. Most deer I have ever seen in a sit at my place in Athens. All deer went to area I sprayed.

I will try it again.

I've found that scents and calls are very much like fishing lures. They work best when whatever you're after is in the mood to chase it.

I had two bucks come to my Hayden's Grunt Call so quickly last weekend that they were on me before I knew it. I wish I could say it has always been as effective, including all the times I've used it during the rut.

Knew a guy once who shot a nice buck that was following the scent trail his dad had made earlier when he walked past his stand with a scented rag tied to his boot. That too was Tinks 69 if I remember correctly. He would later tell his dad, "I just shot the buck that was following you."

Timing is everything. I’ve attracted and killed several bucks using tinks, but it’s all about the right timing.

I personally know of and have myself killed whitetail using lures including Tinks69. Although I have had more deer spook from it over the years than positive results. Just my experiences.

I have never used it until 2 days ago. I had been hunting this old, dark horned 9 point for a couple days. He was moving at all times of the day. Before I climbed into the stand, I went and hung the bottle and wick on a limb about 30 yards from me. At about 3:30, I see movement and can tell it’s a buck. He’s working a scrape about 45 yards out. I notice it’s that dark horned deer. He started walking towards me and gets behind a big oak tree, I get my rifle up, he puts his nose in the air and stops, he’s behind a limb and I can’t shoot.. he sniffs the air walks 5 yards right to the scent wick.. I shot him right below it. Made a believer out of me.

I have never had any luck with tinks products..used it during pre rut.rut and after rut..in fact they act like they are scared of it..no scent left by me..just something they don't particularly like in my area..mayby it has something to do with the high traffic backhoes and excavators leaving diesel scent every where and tearing up my area☹️

I’ve also had mixed results with it. I agree that the timing is probably key, but because I don’t see many deer where I hunt it is hard to tell about the rut a lot of times. I can’t say it’s ever scared deer where I am, and most often they don’t seem to pay attention to it. On the positive side, I’ve had a few older bucks come strutting in with their nose to the ground looking for that scent. They would circle around looking for the doe. It’s exciting to see. And yes, I’ve shot at least two bucks while using Tinks 69.
I’ve tried most of the other brands and had similar results, regardless of price.

Best thing to get dominate buck activity in your area is to score a tarsal gland from a buck taken away from that area. Put it in a zip lock and keep refrigerated. Put it in a tree, rub it on a few branches, etc. where you hunt. They love checking does but they are obsessed with the idea there is an intruder in their area. Younger bucks will be curious. The big boys will be in pissed mode. They are territorial by nature and look to confront anything that threatens their honey hole.

I know everyone will use Tinks the way they see fit....I have used it for many years with success. If used right ...it will work. Although I don't know how you can use it the wrong way. However, I do not use it as directed...experience will guide you.

I have had much greater success using the Texas Raised Hunting Products scents for deer and predators.

Key is using at right time. Using it before any of the does are ready, you will freak the bucks out and see nothing. Use it around and during the run and it CAN work. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. I used it once after an evening sit and seeing nothing. Decided to try it and a buck came it. I thought I was going to have to shoot him as self defense. He was LOOKIN' fer LUV!!!!!!!
