Dan's annual list of why I missed - 11/05/20 04:44 PM
For those who have been waiting patiently for yet another reason to get ticked off at one of my posts, here's my annual list of the reasons you're likely to hear in camp this weekend as to why someone missed that buck, doe, or hog. As always, please feel free to add any of the great many that I've missed...
1. Bad ammo
2. I must have bumped by scope
3. Too much brush
4. Wasps
5. He jumped (or moved) just before I shot
6. That must have been the guy across the fence that you heard shoot
7. I was still hungover
8. I was playing on my cell phone and rushed the shot
9. I'll never loan out that gun again
10. COVID-19
And remember, the buzzards never miss or lose one.
11. Obama made me miss. (It's still all his fault, right?)

He was running and I can't hit squat when it's running. Which isn't an excuse, just a fact. I think I've killed 2 deer in my entire life that were running and missed at least a dozen, including the biggest 8 point I'm ever likely to see. And it was all of a 50 yard shot. Haven't missed a still shot in something like 20 years (that's probably the kiss of death and I'll miss this weekend).
Somebody musta put different ammo in the gun!

One of the funniest and most honest reasons for not even getting off a shot was from a guy who admitted he had been watching a bird. He said that by the time he had stopped watching it, all he could see was the butt end of a deer stepping into the brush.

If I miss it's because I'm like JoJo the Indian circus boy.
