Picked up last years buck

Been a long year wait for this beast. First bow buck and likely my buck of a lifetime. 21 points, split brow tines on both sides and mass for days. Low fence place in Callahan Co.

Thank you All! I am still on "cloud 9" a year later. Still waiting to have him officially scored but taxi came up with 185" and I had him at 187 but hoping the mass pushes him to 190+". I was indeed shaking like crazy when he finally stepped out after about 48 hours (5 sits) in a tree stand. I first saw him on camera a month earlier and hunted hard as soon as bow season started. Came out right at dark and with the tremendous shakes I made a terrible gut shot on him...no blood or hair on the ground but the arrow passed through with minimal blood on it. I finally found him about 300 yards in the direction he ran about 2 hours after dark. I use Chisholm Trail Taxidermy in Cool TX, outside Weatherford. Eugene there has done 5 bucks for me now and does fantastic work. I highly recommend him if you are in the area. Good luck this season All!

Thank you all again! I still find myself staring in amazement often at this big dude amongst my other deer in the past. He looks like a mid-west deer vs. a West Texas critter and dwarfs what I thought were solid bucks from the same area. Here are a few more pics. Good luck all this upcoming season!

been hunting and protein feeding in Callahan County, just north of Baird for 13 years now and man, what a beast. We killed a 166" in 2010 and that's the biggest buck we've ever even gotten on camera. Sure is gonna look pretty on the wall.
