TPWD only lists lawful means & methods, spears are not listed as a lawful means.

But makes me wonder why not.

Because just about anyone can make their own spear. So big sporting good manufacturers have not lobbied for a special spear season.

Not a legal means and method under TPWD definitions for deer. Pigs yes but I'm not gonna exert that much energy on pigs when other methods and thermal works for me
