My place must have fresh acorns on the ground. Corn is building up under the feeders again. If it wasn’t for sex crazed bucks wandering the place, hunting would be slow.
Must be that most of the does are bred by now. I had about 15 in front of me in the hay field a couple of evenings ago. They were spread all over the field but no bucks showed up.
This is an odd year.
At least in my neighborhood (I'll see at the ranch tomorrow), it's a 2nd rut going on. Bucks are acting weird about any doe. Thank goodness my Blue Lacy has matured into the "discretion is the better part of valor" area and will break off the direct assault at about 20 yards when a buck looks like he's not gonna budge from what he's doing.
