Late Archery Hunting in Flint Hills of Kansas

I was planning on going to Kansas on Monday to try to bag my first trophy buck in the Flint Hills, but my hunting partner is sick right now and may not be able to come with me. The season runs through the 31st of this month there for deer. Would hunting from the 26th onward be too late to have a good chance at it? I'm hoping that there are some people here that have experience with hunting up there that may be able to offer me some advice.
