Had a big 8pt jump in the pen around 7:30 and stayed about 15 min, finally sauntered off. Would have been my personal best but my wife couldn’t make it this time (1st in 6 years) so I’m just observing this weekend. Hopefully she’ll make it next weekend.

That's why blinds have windows, or if you're too short a door, so you can relieve yourself without getting out of the blind.

I have had feeders that didn't work on opening morning, but never one flat out gone. That sucks.

Shot a coyote here in north east red river Co this am about 07:30. Son saw one deer for a few seconds, but couldn’t tell if it was legal, all we have seen. Few shots in the distance, but very quite.....

Had 30 on the truck in Montague. Chick Fil A chicken minis in foil kept me warm for the walk in. Seen 5 doe and 3 bucks and 40 cows... Hardly a shot heard.

They are moving around on my place. Seeing new guys.....a really tall 8 yesterday and a massive 8 with nice kicker about 40 minutes ago....sure was tempting.

Walked back to the house, wife says come look... She woke up, raised the blind, and sees this:

Quiet around here. No shots this morning. No wind. Eerily quiet. Weird.

Another little young guy eating now. All young deer here.

Back at the house now it sure was a nice morning. Saw a couple of young bucks. Plan on being back out there this evening.

That's easier said than done... Just had the biggest buck I've ever seen on our place come out. I promised my Brother he could shoot. 5.5yo 9pt, 21-22" outside, chocolate horns. Stud.

Living my deer season through y’all , kinda sucks

Shot a spike this afternoon and have no regrets, we have a good representation of 1.5 year old deer so no damage done. I am now looking for the 5 year old 12 point I saw last weekend. Other than that I have a couple of MLD doe tags to use, been a little slow but hoping tomorrow will be better.

Had doe eating at feeder and then bolt and heard a squeal. Huge sounder tore up the woods for an hour and only saw 2 of them with barely a shot for my boy. Entertaining night at least.

I have a heater. Didn’t bring it today.

After I walk to the blind it warms me up. It is a little chilly right now. That’s because my tennis shoes got wet walking in.

Heck I can’t even remember my dreams! Probably better that way.

Just looked at my pics. 1 minute before sunrise today. Mom and 2 kids.

Get a 3 foot piece of pvc pipe to extend your "lil buddy" onto the grass (or dirt) away from your ladder. Good ole pee pipe works like a charm and easy to store in the blind.

How else could I have warmed up my tamales! LOL!

No deer yesterday but some piggies came out in the high weeds. Hit one with the 223, but couldn’t get a second shot, weeds just too high and he ran into the trees. Never found him.

Back at it this morning. Hope my allergies let me stay a while!

2 doe under my feeder now. Still waiting on big boy.

Forget all those allergy meds and get some vitamin C tabs, take them daily and your allergy will be a thing of the past.
I used to have allergy attacks that were so bad I couldn't stay in the stand and would have to go sit in the truck with the windows up and watch the deer from there. It was bad.

Going on ten years now with no allergy problems to speak of, and I take one tablet of Vitamin C daily, 365 days a year. Dr. won't tell you that because they want your business.

Had fun watching the deer this morning. About 30°F here in Deep East Texas, crisp and cool. Very little wind.

Saw 7 Does and 3 bucks. All but one passed within 25 yds. of my stand.

Young 10 point checked all the Does then went on his way.

Just snapped a few pics and enjoyed the show.
