Yes, a 300 grain bullet will do it every time. I've taken phone calls from 338 Lapua shooters worried about the 300 grain SMK not working as a hunting bullet. My comment is always something along the lines of if you have good shot placement with a 300 grain bullet from a Lapua Mag, anything in N. America is going to die.

Exit hole was size of softball. Sure it’s overkill but screw tracking. No meat wasted bullet took off the top 1/2 of her heart. Love this gun and round. Glass is amazing as well best I have ever been behind
