A little early

Sitting in the stand behind the house right now. Drinking coffee. Just had 3 bucks, including my target 9pt at the feeder up on the ridge about 400 yards away. Two young 8s, one of which is snapped off at the base of the right main beam from fighting. Both young bucks chasing a neighbors doe behind a tall fence. It was kind of comical to watch. Now they're all gone. Funny watching young bucks around a female. The older 9 couldnt have cared less. He's a corn hog. That'll change in about a month.

Big 9 just came out on the edge of the field, walked around for a minute then headed toward the pond. He's nice for around these parts, 18"-19" wide, chocolate antlers. Beautiful in the morning sun.

Not uncommon to see busted up antlers in Sept in a lot of areas. I seem to have a few bucks here that have broken tines or even a whole mainbeam by the time Oct rolls around. Evening are cooling off nicely now with the shorter days. Mornings have been pleasant with NE or E winds also. Not nearly as humid the last two weeks with those winds.
