Free doe hunts for the less fortunate - 08/17/19 08:04 PM
I need to take about 8-10 doe this year. My crew has no desire to shoot them so I’d like to offer them up to kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to hunt. These hunts will probably take place in December. Please PM me if you know a father/son who would like to come out. These hunts will take place in Throckmorton and will be a morning hunt. If the morning isn’t successful, an afternoon will be offered.

Wow. The response has been overwhelming. With that being said, I received one particular PM that really moved me (not to downplay any of the others I received). I’m going to get involved with Texas Hunt for the Cure which offers hunts to kids with terminal illnesses. I’ve already reached out to them and hopefully can help put a smile on a few kids faces.

Is there any way that THF'ers can help your efforts to put a smile on those folks faces? What an outstanding gesture on your part.

That's what I was going to refer doing... Do something similar to "Make a Wish" or something like that... that would be really special and would mean a lot more to them kids who would NEVER get the opportunity.

Great gesture, TTT Ranch. We were approached by that organization as well as a couple of others when my son was going through 5 years of intensive chemotherapy for high risk ALL Leukemia. Since I had availability to hunting already, we declined the offer to allow another to partake. Wonderful organizations doing wonderful yeoman work. By God's graces, my son is still around and very much kicking!!

TTT, any way you could get a post up where THFers could pay it forward and help to defray "incidentals" costs ? Only takes a few bucks from a bunch of soft-hearted guys to make a "Special Day"...into a life long and possibly a life-altering memory for as many kids as we can!!!

An idea for next year, you might check with the Ben Richey Boys Ranch in Abilene and ask if they have any boys that want to hunt.
