So might have a place to hunt off of HWy 283 along county rd 765.. Anyone hunt out that way? How are the deer? Any exotics, etc? Any info much appreciated.

Hunted just over the river from you there. Have seen hogs but not on our place much. Decent deer population bucks can have some size, if given time. No exotics. Had one photo of an elk at one of our feeders (and yes, I know what an elk looks like) but that was 8 or so years ago and we've never seen sign of one since.
East of 283, the country is more 'deer-like' in that you can see oaks and various other trees and brush other than mesquite, which is more prevalent to the west of 283. The closer to the river and/or farming you get, the more you'll be likely to see hogs.

Grew up in Brady/East Sweden. But covered most of the county hunting/fishing/farming. I will 2nd what Bbear said.

Deer usually don't get too big in that part of the world (body weight) and a 140-150 class buck is a "decent" buck.

If you feed, and put out minerals, feed protein, etc. You will see noticeable results in a few years. Hogs will always be a problem, prepare to build a feed pen if there are hogs/cows (if you have a feeder)
