Field dressing/meat question

Field dressing/meat question - 01/17/19 07:46 PM

Hi, I recently shot a deer and noticed the clear/white bubbly matter on some areas on the inside of the rib cage as I was field dressing it. Anyone know what the bubbly matter is? It was a neck shot so the blood and bubbles wouldn't be from the shot. Think it's safe to eat? The meat looks fine.

Fat or fascia left from the diaphragm. It is normal. You have it too.

Cant say that I have ever noticed something exactly like that. Is it attached to the meat? Or just like a film on top?

It doesn't look bad, I would assume its fine.

It's like a film on top but attached to the ribs. Maybe I just haven't paid enough attention in the past but for some reason it stood out as I was field dressing it.
