East-central Duval County

Up until this Saturday, we had only seen two doe and a very young 4 pointer. Then, all of the sudden Saturday afternoon, we saw 11 new deer!! No shooters (all were doe or yearlings), but I got to watch that 4 pointer eating corn with two doe. They were next to each other for at least 15 minutes, and not once did the buck even care that the two doe were there. I guess we're still waiting for the rut down here, but at least there is movement.

For the last 11 years, this is the week that non regularly seen bucks start showing up on cameras for us. South Duval Co.

I'm finally feeling a little optimistic about this season. It's been the slowest since 2009.
