Staying hidden in a stand

What do yall do to be better concealed in a tree stand? I felt like i stood out like a sore thumb last year and want to figure out the best way to conceal the stand better

I do not have trees big or tall enough in the better hunting spots to put up a tree stand. some of the bigger trees here are evergreen types also but just not tall enough for a tree stand. So I use tripods backed into or behind the tree. I take a piece of cattle panel behind me to hide my silhouette. I attach cedar limbs, palm fronds or black brush limbs to the piece of cattle panel. I also will string as single strand of 14 ga. tie wire in front of me below my shooting line and far enough out in front of me to not effect my draw or shot. I hang the same cover on it that I put behind me. I do not trim a lot of shooting lanes since I am hunting corn most of the time close to a feeder pen. I leave a few low hanging limbs to break up the blind and my silhouette. I might have a great spot for the tripod and have to clear out the openings for the shooting lanes. I do not like to hunt the feed pens since the deer approach them from downwind most of the time and I set so they are between me and the pen. My wind is blowing away from both the pen and the deer if at all possible. If that spot has some really thick tall brush/cover downwind from my blind it is even better. I think they sell some fake tree limb kits to attach to trees and blinds for the purpose of hiding the hunter once the leaves fall off.

where do you hunt and what kind of tree is your stand in?

as stx stated, anything to break up your pattern will help.

Spent most of my life hunting from tree stands with a longbow mostly. The best concealment is get high as possible, keep your movement to a minimum.

It's not silhouette that kills you, it's movement. If you have a shooting rail on your stand, hanging some burlap from the rail will allow a bit of movement of hands and feet that deer can't see. If it makes you feel better, stick some leafy twigs in the burlap.

For stand set up it's best to stay in the shadows/shade and have a backdrop to break up your outline.
Color isn't as big of a deal as long as you don't move. You can be wearing a gilley suit, but if you move, it's all for naught.
If you have a box blind, again you need to make sure the opposite side of the blind is darkened where you don't have daylight behind you where the deer can see you moving around.
People used to actually hunt in blue jeans and a red plaid shirt. I killed many a deer dressed just that way.

I use a tripod stand up against a oak tree. I usually wear a ghillie suit similar to Schpanky. It is important to cover your face so the game cannot see your eyes and especially sunglasses, giant black eyes.
And as everyone has said sit still!

Try a site with two trees a couple of feet apart. That second trunk can really help. I don't know too many hunters that really sit still, they scratch when the bug bites. Being absolutely motionless creates sort of an out of body experience. A box really helps- if it has been up in the tree a while.
Old Fred Bear had a good story on stand hunting. They tried a stand with a human dummy in it, just too see if deer noticed it. On opening day they got rid of the dummy and used the stand. By gum it worked. So deer do look around.

On my tri-pod... I zip tie camo netting around the rail. Simple and cheap.

Lot of good advice above: I bow hunt so-
Don't silhouette your self
Try to push stand into the trees for a shadow effect if possible
Learn to watch by moving your eyes not your head(I have watched a doe stand perfectly still focusing on something she did not like)
Careful not to make unnatural sounds like something clanking on your metal stand
Wear camo that is close colors to your surroundings or better cover stand with as much natural cover/vegetation around you IE-limbs-branches-grasses
Hunt the wind, more important than cover and movement
Lastly, morning or evening stand, setup stand where the sun is behind you in the morning or afternoon. Better deer looking into the sun in your direction vs you.

Place your stands far back into trees. I try to have cover between my stand and the game.
