Hunting Kansas - 01/02/18 01:37 AM

So now that I’m done whitetail hunting this season I’m trying to plan for next season. I would really like to try and hunt Kansas next year. I would like to try and draw for a either sex tag and hunt the public land but I haven’t ever hunted public land in my life. Does anyone have any suggestions on where exactly to start. What units should I look in, is it worth just going and buying an over the counter doe tag? Any help is appreciated.

I've bird hunted on fort Riley for 35 years. I've seen some really great deer.....check it out. 70000 acres there are some special rules but nice country.

Not all of Kansas is created equal..... SE is very good where we area at. Good population with mature deer but ours is personal farm.
