Any good deals on cars right now? I've been thinking of trading in my 16 ram 4x4 and my 12 ram 2500 4x4 hemi for a diesel. Not sure though. I like no car payments!!!

First deer at the feeder. Big bodied spike but one spike is broke.

Got instand around one, had problems with heater. Two doe ate for awhile. Got heater working. Just waiting on the big one or some hogs. Henderson county.

Had a huge hog on camera here. He's been pretty nocturnal. I do have some pics of him in he daytime on a day about like this. He will get a bullet if he comes out. He's a good one too. I won't be able to load him alone! Lol

Young 4 point with no brows just made a stop for a minute.

Deer are starting to move. Got one right Behind my blind. Bout 10 yards away.

Maybe when the feeder goes off more will come in.

My cousin is bringing her son this weekend I'm hoping he will get it.

Got in the stand late with the girlfriend. We spooked a couple because I had to drive by to go close a feeder I left open at lunch.

Forgot to bring any corn for the road too. I've been a bit scatter brained this season. Lost a $130 Benchmade knife after my last hunt.

Up to eight deer pass by already. Watching two bucks fight about 200yds away down in a draw. They are moving!

I saw a12 point outta this stand yesterday I sure would like to get some pichers of. Prolly a 3 year old deer.

I would like to see him too!!! Same deer messing around here. Maybe some other stuff will come out.

Last deer to come out was a doe. Late. My feet are froze from wet boots. Hopefully I can dry them out. If not I'll be headed to abiline in the morning after I hunt to buy some dry ones!!! Lmao. I always bring extra boots. Not his time. For got my hdmi cable too. Just got one at loves for 30 bucks. Holy crap!!!

I'm glad she came out late cause I was thinking the same thing. It's cold out there. I've got it up to a blistering 52 degrees in the camper! Lol. Better than 29 outside. I didn't have he heater on while I was hunting or when I went to town. It's warming up nicely. Put a movie on and just chillin now. I think it's gonna be foggy in the morning. Should be a good morning though. Nice and cold.

On a side note. When I ran into town there were deer everywhere. Almost hit two.

Yea, I saw more deer than I knew was on the place driving out... Really need to shoot a few more doe.

Lmao. I'm the same way. Get all gun hoe and then just watch them. It was a good evening. Sucked my feet where wet. I'll take a doe or two before I leave. Not sure how long I'm staying yet. Maybe till Thursday or maybe till next Tuesday. Time will tell. As for this camper, it's slowly warming up!!!! I'll be posting while I hunt tomorrow too! Can barely make out four deer already. We are hunting a big stand tucked out of the wind vs the spot I wanted to just so she can stay warm, and that's ok. She's warm enough that I turned the buddy heater off and life is good.

In the stand with both my boys this morning. It’s already a successful hunt spending time with them. Seen a couple of spikes this morning. Hoping this wind will die down.

Thanks everyone. It was surprise to see him come running in. He wanted some corn! It was cold out there. Still is. I'm sick too. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. From the sound of it someone was sick at a Christmas and didn't tell anyone. Guess heybwere still contagious. Ugggg. Gonna be a long drive home. A good one though! I about never got him loaded! Lol. Thanks to all who followed along. Keep on a posting on here if you're hunting!

We've seen deer all day, even from camp, just haven't shot one yet. Most likely this evening. Did enjoy some backstrap and mac'n'cheese for lunch. About to head back out after some s'mores.

I made it to the house. Turned that one buck into four quarters! Lol see what I did there! He's all iced down. Got him all caped out. Not bad having 102 fever. This bed never looked so good. Hope everyone is seeing deer. They were everywhere today! Truly a great day to be a hunter!

Spent all day in blinds. Only a couple does came put to play.

We got in blind and turkeys went nuts vacuuming up corn when feeder went off. Daughter climbed down to visit nature and 3 bucks came in. They didn't like he climbing back in blind at 70 yards and all bolted but corn was already gone. They are hungry.

I'm feeling a little better today. Not great though. Sounds like y'all are seeing some deer. This week and this weekend should be great. Has Anyone seen where it's gonna be in the single digits Sunday?

Deer have been moving at our lease in east Texas. Most deer we’ve seen on the camera all season. Dad got the chance and connected with a palmated deer and I shot a hog.

I let this one walk all last year to see what he'd look like this year and he actually regressed a little I think. I either miss judged him last year or he was just really rutted down this year as his body was noticeably smaller to me now than opening weekend. We have some really good young ten and eights so I decided to go ahead and take him this morning.

Thanks! I really have. It was a tough one at first for sure. All that way to December 8th. I worked my butt off. I logged a lot of hours this year and never knew this would end up being up one of my best seasons ever! Only seasons that were better were when my boys got their first deer. I wish one of them would have been with me yesterday cause that would have been their deer. They are 16 and 13 now and to cool to hunt with dad. Lol. I'm only 36, im cool. My mom says so!!! Lmao. My dad wasn't a hunter and most I've my hunting has been alone and self taught. I did learn a lot from grandad though. I always thought when I had kids they would love it as much as me. Maybe they will come around!

Yessir. I agree with 82ag. Beautiful buck. I want one like that right now. My 8pt is back but I just don't see enough age on him. He is 20 minutes older than when I saw him before, so there's that.

82ag you aren't far off. My intial guess was was 130-135

As far as buck scores I came up with 138 exactly w/ the broken brow. I checked my my math many times as well as the measurements. I measure stuff for a living(custom window treatments, blinds, shades, motorized shades) so hopefully I got that part right! lol. Moving slow today. Don't feel horrible but also don't feel great. I don't have fever though so that's a plus!!!

P&Y are you having any luck in eastland county? Our counties are touching but we don't have ar's. Probably a good thing for us. My grandad killed a real narrow buck a few years ago that was only 12.5" wide. Scored something like 143. Very tall deer. Best if luck to ya. I always stop at alsups of of 20 in Cisco. Quit stopping in eastland. Always got pulled over! Lol

Drove out to San Angelo to the farm for one last hunt this season. This was the highway just south of Abilene (around Buffalo Gap — note the windmill generator on the right).




We came back this morning before the big freeze this weekend...

Counted 48 doe (several with fawn) and only 01 buck (too young to take).

Should've taken a couple of the girls to fill out the back freezer...

8 does, one spike and a small 8pt. are in the feeder pen. 5 does in the pasture right behind the house.

^^^^^ We only have 50 acres but luckily nobody hunts the places next door to us. Lots of deer but most of the bucks are in the 13" class.

I only have 68 acres but it's mine! I have a good bit of deer too. The neighboring land by me doesn't hunt either and I know the owner well. Went to school with his daughter. I'm very selective on what I take. I will continue to be that way too! It's my little oasis and I have some good up and comers! They will make maturity if it's up to me. There are some hunters to the south of me. I can't control what they shoot but I can control what I shoot!

Been here 4 years and haven't shot a deer yet. I'm determined to let them grow up. Previous owner let everybody in this end of Lee county hunt here so we didn't see a lot of bucks at first. We're infested with hogs so we still get a lot of shooting.

I've shot 2 bucks in the last 4 years on mine. No hunting pressure when I got it. I've put in food plots and got the land in overall better shape. Talk about pigs, holy moly. I've been at war with them! Lol. Heading there tomorrow to try my luck. The pigs have tore up some dirt but for some reason. They stay out of the food plots. Lucky so far. This will be the first year I put food plots in the spring time. Also have a bunch of big old oak trees. Dropping acorns like crazy. Deer really just started hitting the plot 3 weeks ago.

Not hunting but have seen deer along business 121 in Lewisville every morning this week pre-dawn coming home from work.

I'm in camp. To cold to hunt. Shot a hog yesterday afternoon so my urge to kill is not stronger than the weather at the moment.

38 degrees and misting. Little buddy heater is earning it's keep. No deer yet.

42 and windy in falls county. Nice and cozy In the well insulated deer blind. Don't need the heater but ran it anyway so no jacket in the blind too hot. 7 doe spread out in the oat patch and zero bucks

Didn't have time to post, but I got two doe hangin upside down in a big ole oak tree... Come on cold weather!

Stub, he weighed 235.8 pounds. My biggest to kill. I've killed a lot of pigs too. Was nice to see him drop too. Wouldn't have been fun tracking and dragging him. Sure it counts if you walked your dogs! It's cold out there!
