Coleman county rut is on, how is your county doing?

We are finally witnessing the rut here here in coleman, it is usually over by now but is ramped up pretty good this week.

Thaught about done hunt county but saw 3 mature bucks this am all were following doe not hard running

Where are you all hunting in coleman county? Back in 01 our machine shop had a company lease on the coleman Mc Culloch county line there inthe south part of county. Best hunting lease i ever been on except west tx decades ago. Always saw deer, turkey, second last year i was there before we all laid off a 177 class 5 1/2 yr old nice 10pt was taken one warm morning while we were there. 1100 acres was mangage, certain does, bucks taken every year according to biologist wanted. Cell phones were marginal there, loved the get away, kill snakes year round, last year i was there, one of hunters spotted a big cat, not sure what became of it, texas wild for sure!

As far as rut, here near Brenham tx area, yes bucks chasing does now, so maybe this cold weather this week will get some more movement going our way. Heavy acorn crop in the county, feeders mostly been worhtless this year, just feeding coons, squirrels. no hogs, cattle panels prevent this bxxxxxxx away.

Night vision revealing activity between 10pm, 3am.... so deer getting smarter.....

Saw 3 bucks running does in Hopkins county 12/1 9am, took one, largest buck so far off my own property.

I am on the coleman county brown county line and the bucks were back to running together. I believe the rut activity in our area ended about a week ago.

I hunt near lake brownwood and the rut was going good on our place last weekend. Shot a nice 9pt cull chasing does hard on friday night.

Waiting on second rut in hunt county bout a week.

Seen some chasing here too. Seems to have slowed somewhat.
