Hamilton county - 12/07/16 04:38 AM

I'm just getting out for the first time this season ( better late than never), and I'm a fairly new hunter as well. Does anyone know if the rut is on in Hamilton county right now?

Last week it has slowed but bucks are getting back to their early season patterns. Coming to feeders more frequently and starting to tolerate each other.

I hunt in Pottsville, just ouside of Hamilton and I agree with MoTex. There are a few still pushing does, but not many. 2 weeks ago bucks were running the does around like crazy.

We hunt close to Shive and this has been the worst year we've had in 8 years....We always see deer and this year we have seen a total of 6 deer and had sat 3 times a weekend since youth weekend up until last weekend...Hope you have better luck...

I hunt within 4-5 miles of both of you. I am seeing more deer and better quality than the last two years. Our pigs have disappeared, maybe that has something to do with it.
