In red river county we have plent of acorns and have had plenty of rain with more coming next week. Will last nights freeze of 28 degrees have any effect on the acorns on the ground or the ones yet to fall?

i hunt in RRC and I think the acorns have got to be on their last leg, it's so wet, you'd think they'd be rotted out by now, and the freeze should make the last of them fall and rot out on the ground.

Acorns need to be chilled to make sprout the following spring, if they don't sprout in the early fall. I would figure on a lot of rotting because of just wet weather. I'd bet most that spoil are from the worms. They will be gone, or covered soon enough.
