This is a buck that my grandfather shot probably somewhere around 1970-72. Wondering what you all would guess him at.

He has a small plaque there on the bottom of the mount that recognizes the deer for what he scored (which is probably nothing now a days) back then so I already know what he comes in at but figured you all might want to test your eyes. dunce

My grandfather loved them back then. Those were done by Joe Hibler and have held up better than some I have had done in the past 10 years.

The neck does look goofy as heck though, lol.

Not bad for a WAG, lol.

Deer grossed 168 3/8 according to the people that measured him back then. Large portion of the score coming from the mass he has. You can't see it too well in those pics but he has some palmation on that forked G2 and is pretty heavy throughout with almost every point being bladed. Was shot on a small ranch here in Webb County and is his second biggest deer but far and away his favorite.

Good guesses everyone!

Put a tape on him today and post the measurements. Be a good time for all us to see where we were over or short on our measurements.

They have him at their office, but when I get some time I will take him down and see how he adds up to what they had him at.
