Fawn - 11/15/15 10:40 PM
Got this pic today on my trail cam. Must mean I'll have some bucks rutting late. Lol

I had a picture of a spotted fawn in October or September and was surprised.
That is pretty common where I hunt and the bucks rut late. (Dec-Jan)
Depends on your location in the state as to how rare a sight it is.

There's a late rut, sometimes called a second rut, some young does come into heat late. I have does with a fawn and those does are not much larger than the 2015 deer.
More than likely it is due to the early rut in some areas. Doe fawns born in May will weigh enough and be old enough to breed by Jan or Feb. Yes bucks can and do still breed all the way into March.
