Turkey problem??

Turkey problem?? - 11/07/15 02:10 PM

I have too many stupid turkeys coming into my feeders. They wipe out the corn in a matter of minutes and when I throw rocks at them they will only move off a few yards. To get them to leave I have to make so much racket that every deer in the county knows where I am. Not that it even matters,as soon as one gang moves out another will move in. I can't just shoot them all,the last time I went out I had 4 different groups and I quit counting at 60 birds. Any ideas guys?

Corn Buzzards...I hate them with a passion rifle shoot what you have tags for.

No such thing as too many turkeys. IMHO.

Turkeys are delicious. I have 4 tags, and I'm willing to help.

You don't have to throw corn on the ground. What do you think is gonna happen when you feed corn to wildlife, wildlife will show up. Just deer hunt a different way.

I might have to do it! I don't know what else to do. Maybe get the whole family tagged up and eat turkey for the next year.

I wouldn't mind that problem. Best tasting game in the field I think.

string a hotwire up and see how they like that

sure wild turkeys can fly, but something tells me they will be flying away and not coming back if they get a good zap

Same story here. Include the wife and we have 8

Or talk to the state about coming out to trap them for the re-stocking program

The wife and I have 8 turkey tags, and with Thanksgiving right around the corner I could feed the fam. There's plenary of people on here that would be more than happy to fill a few tags to help you out

One year we had the same problem so we set the feeders to go off earlier in the morning and later in the evening. They roost till good daylight and go to bed earlier than deer. Helped a little at least.

Pellet gun or a high power air gun can be your best friend if your feeder is not to far. Aim for the back and the thickest feathers. Don't ask me how I know this. grin

I've got the same problem going on but between the wife and kids we have plenty of tags, just trying to get a good buck out the way first!
