7.62x39 factory whitetail ammo - 10/13/15 04:02 PM
I know the limitations of the 7.62. I know its very similar ballistically to the 30/30. I don't plan on taking shots over 150 yards. I know the mini30 I'm going to be shooting isn't sub moa.
Now that all of the obvious questions/comments are out of the way. Which factory ammo do y'all like for whitetail in 7.62x39? Figuring standard soft points will do just fine. I think hornady makes a round with an SST. What do y'all think?

Hornady SST or Federal Fusion would be my first choice but any soft point ammo would probably be fine.

I reload Hornady SST's and they are deadly on deer and hogs. I definitely recommend the Hornady factory rounds in SST.

I've shot quite a few of the 123gr SSTs in my SKS and 7.62x39 AR.
They shot 1.1" 5 shot groups at 100 yards in the AR.
They worked great on pigs and pretty good on deer.
They are a slightly tougher bullet and hold together well.
They make nice holes without exploding and destroying too much.
I have not tried the Fusions so I can't give a comparison.
