One more day....

and I will be heading to the lease for my first hunt of the season. I will check cams Friday and hopefully have a better game plan for this season. As of right now I don't really have a shooter on camera that I am after but there is one that is still around from last season I have high hopes for and hopefully he will be on this round of pics.

Beats setting at home. I actually like hunting and not knowing what is out there.

Actually stopped running so many cams, takes away from part of the excitement for me. 3 years ago I felt like I personally knew every single deer on my place and could almost set my watch to their movement. Now it's a what if game for me.

I agree. I'll be setting out my first cam ever this weekend. ONLY reason I'm putting one out is I had lots of signs of deer last season, and only saw 5 deer in over 80 hours of sitting. Couldn't figure out if they were nocturnal or what. They would eat corn, and I'd have good prints, and see occasional scrapes, but no deer during LST. So I wanna figure out what's going on.

That's the other half of the fun for me at least at this point in time. I like following bucks and even does from year to year.
