nice Oklahoma 8 on cam

nice Oklahoma 8 on cam - 09/30/15 01:38 AM

Cody and I think just a 3.5 120. If that's really the case think I'll pass this year although I really want a big 8. If he was closer to 130 not sure I could turn down. What do you think?

I think he is older than 3.5

He's more like 4.5-5.0 and 125-130ish.

May even be like 5.5-6.0 on age, Roman nose and lots of white around those eyes.

That would be good news. Man, I can't age deer at all.

I would call that deer a really fat 3 yr old from those pics.

Tweener

That's the kind of deer you'll pass on opening weekend and not hesitate on the last weekend.

No visible sway back or deep gut. Can't really get a good look at the hocks but leans towards the younger side.

If I were in no hurry and didn't have trigger happy neighbors, I'd be inclined to see what he does next year.

What part of OK do y'all hunt?

3 - 4 year old and lower 120's is my guess.

South Central. Have good neighbors, I know them all and we're all part of an association. Everyone is management minded and don't want to be shooting young deer. I have only had the land a year, I didn't take any bucks last year, but passed on a 140 10-point, had a 150-160 10-point on cam in day I never saw in person, and had another non-typical that if it had both sides would go 170+.

I haven't taken a buck on the land yet and I really want a nice 8, so only reasons I wouldn't let him walk. In future I hope to pass on deer until they are 140 8's or 150-160+ 10's.
