Feeder Spin times?

How long do you recommend to spin corn. During the season? Morning's, Evening's?
I have both feeders set at 5 seconds now, twice daily.

I usually do 7-10 seconds during the season depending on the price of corn - typically 4-5 seconds in spring and summer. I typically set both morning and afternoon for the same duration.

Our times vary depending on how many deer are hitting each of our 10 feeders. Some set for 3 secs twice a day others for 6 twice

I run mine 10 sec. twice a day all year, and kick it up to 15 sec. during the season.

During season generally 8 to 9 second morning and afternoon. If the deer are hitting a feeder really hard in the afternoons we occasionally sit a second feeding twenty to thirty minutes later on a feeder. Generally 6 seconds at 5pm and 6 seconds at 5:30 pm.

During season, 8 seconds morning, 4 seconds evenings, but I also set a one second spend 30 minutes after my first one in the morning.

I let the deer tell me. If the cams say that they're only coming at night, I only throw in the mornings. I don't like welfare types.

I generally throw for 4 to 5 seconds. I'm using 6 feeders and it gets expensive.

Crows can change my entire game plan. If they become too bad, I'll change throwing times to just before daylight and just before dusk. Then I throw for 2 seconds. The crows don't like thick brush so I may throw a little longer there.

Also depends how much corn a particular feeder setup throws per second. I run 3 seconds twice a day in the off season and go to 5 seconds as the season approaches and will add more time if there's more activity

I forgot to add as "rickym" said. I will add more time if the corn is being eaten and less time if it is not.

I see this question all the time. If you have your spinner plate close to the feeder it will throw out much less corn than if you have it farther from the feeder.

I think it may be best to check the ground just after shooting hours a few times and adjust the timer based on how much corn is left on the ground. If you have a lot of corn on the ground after dark then the deer get free choice and may only feed at night.

My feeder is set for one second, it actually takes about 3 seconds to quit spinning. That's enough to keep the deer coming and staying for a while to eat all the corn on the ground..

2 seconds in morning and evening for now. Once we determine how the acorn crop is going to impact visits to the feeders, we can adjust accordingly.

We've had years where corn just sat in piles under the feeder, even at 1 second throw times until the acorns spoiled. Even the pigs turned their noses from it.

I narrow the gap between the pan and opening, I like to run longer for the noise the feeder makes. The sound will attract animals.

I try to fed enough to keep the deer around during the off season and increase just before the rut starts. All depends on number of deer coming around and type of feeder in use. As mentioned earlier some feeders go for 2 seconds after the motor stops while others such as the "eliminator" stop at once.
