Out of state outfitter recommendations? - 01/25/15 05:09 AM

Looking for a Free range hunt for whitetail in any northern state.

looking for a well managed place, with realistic odds of getting big deer, 170+. I understand something like these will be expensive. Cost is not an issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Some of the better states(IMO) would require you to draw a permit. Some have archery(some x-bow), muzzleloader, shotgun and/or rifle. I would look into Iowa or Kansas to start. Oklahoma or Kentucky can be sleeper states and IIRC both are over the counter license. Eastern Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Illinois and the Dakotas can all have some really good deer just have to do your homework on those states. As far as an outfitter it will take some phone calls and then ask for a lot references from any or all of them. Call every reference they give you.
