Took a doe this evening with my bow using two new to me at least pieces of gear.
one was the BH: Grim Reaper. My shot at 18 yds was good on elevation but too far foward. I knew it since the luminock showed the lack of penetration. The Reaper blew through the shoulder and still made a slight hole on the other side. Deer went about 125 yds. I was pleasantly surprised by getting that deep with a mechanical head on a shoulder shot. The ferrule is bent so it is one and done but well worth it for the clean kill and short tracking job.
The other piece of new gear with broader application was my heated insoles my sons gave me for Christmas. My feet are always cold when it gets below 40 and I'm just sitting. This afternoon I sat for 3 hrs on a tripod and my feet were toasty warm. They are made by Thermacell. They are rechargeable and have a remote control. I didn't turn them on until I started feeling the chill in my toes. They are awesome. If your feet get cold sitting still these are a must have piece of gear.
