Mills county buck.... - 11/22/14 07:56 PM
finally got my first buck with a bow. Wife got me the bow a couple years ago for Christmas and shot my first doe last year. Been hunting every weekend just outside of Goldthwaite and last Sunday, light mist coming down and deer were moving really good for me. Had 6 or 7 deer come out just before good light and start eating the corn. Figured one was a buck by the way the other were acting. When I could finally see, had two bucks and 5 does. Bucks were nice 8's but were young. Had a couple more 4 pts. come in, while others were there. Finally about 7:20, some of the deer started moving off then this guy walks around the corner. He went inside the feeder pen where I have know shot, but it's 25 - 30 yds out. Spends 10 minutes inside, then comes out but goes the other way. Walks off with a doe, but comes back for more feed. Finally comes around to my side of the pen, 22 yds out. Shot went through both lungs. Watched him walk off about 80 yds and lay down! Had to show the kids Dad can do it too!!!
