Got a question about who needs a hunting license...

I'm going to go hunting this coming week and my wife wants to tag along, I'm encouraging her, and yes I know I probably won't see anything cuz she has a million words, seems they get reloaded each morning, but what can I say...She's my best friend, anyway she won't be carrying a gun just a camera. I'll be the one with the HL and gun...does she still need to have a HL anyway?

Depends on the GW. Had one a few years back that wrote tickets to three Baylor kids that were here spotlighting with the wife's nephew one night during the summer. They had one 22, two licensed, three unlicensed hunters and one dead rabbit in the back of his truck.

My wife comes with me sometimes to the deer stand. Some years she's bought a HL and those years she gets to take a gun. When she doesn't no gun for her. It's that simple, just make sure at all times you have the gun if she does not have a HL.

There was a scenario a few years back here in Eastland county where a group was riding around just using a spotlight....not hunting. When the LEO stopped them and searched the vehicle, he found a few loose 22 rounds rolling in the floorboard. They were ticketed for hunting/spotlighting from a public road. I don't know what the overall outcome was but that's how the rap started. Officer figured if there was ammunition and a spotlight was being used, surely they were hunting.
