Hunting show recovery fake!

Hunting show recovery fake! - 11/07/14 08:51 PM

So I'm watching Summits High Places on the outdoors channel and the hunter shoots a buck with his bow and spines it. They do a few high fives and then cut to the hunter with "the deer" only the rack looks different, and then I notice the head is not moving like a normal dead deer. No visable blood, ears are erect and head does not turn. So the closer I look I'm sure this is a mounted deer head being used for the recovery? I was just wondering if anyone else saw this? I'm sure there are this type of stuff on hunting shows but I would be afraid to air it if I was them.

Wish I had seen that. I know that nearly all the hunting show deer killed manage taking a bath and putting their tongue back in their mouth before they die and the hunter finds them, which is usually right by where the camera man is standing. grin

Faking hunting shows is the norm. If you watch many shows you will see the old switcheroo multiple times.

They will do anything to make a show.

Ted Nugent is about the only one I've seen where blood is pouring out and he ain't afraid the entrance and exit wounds.

some hunting shows are fake. I have been in camp at three different places while shows were being filmed. I felt like I was left on the back burner because more attention was directed to making sure the show was getting the footage it needed and to make sure the show got their animal. Here I am the guy who works hard all year just to be able to afford one nice trip and all the sudden I am not as important. I will NEVER go on a trip again if they plan to have tv cameras in camp. I will go on another week.
One year on an elk hunt (I wont mention the show) the guy wounded three elk, so they said no more shooting. So I had already taken a decent 6x6 (Nice for a poor Texas boy) but the tv show had all the footage, camp, the shot, the summary, everything but they had no elk and no recovery. So they asked if they could use my elk. So I said yes. (should have said no) and the tv show came out and it shows all the guys footage and shows them acting like they are recovering an elk and it was my elk on the show not his (never found any of this wounded elk) . NO BS... True Story... then the last day they say hey can you sign this waiver releasing all rights to the proceeds from the show.

I have made that comment watching a few H shows "Look by the camera man"

IMO, most shows are bigger fantasy than a disney flick.

A lot of those shows, with the exception of a few, are really just elaborate commercials for wild game ranches and offer very little in the way of helpful tips or advice.

Now, how much fun would it be to let them go to all that trouble, then refuse to sign the waiver? I'd do it.

This certainly changes my outlook on the hunting shows. I would have asked for some $ or for them to pay for your next hunt

It's TV, it's about rating, the better the ratings the better the pay for the commercials, the higher the net profit. Nothing more than entertainment, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. up

No way in hell would I cooperate in someone committing a fraud like that, IMO, that s what it is..If they are willing to compromise there, what else do the compromise?

Seen several "big name" hunters over the years get busted for various wildlife violations and for what, a VHS,DVD or show! SMH

They didn't get it done, that is how their video should have ended, with the truth...Wonder if, or what their advertisers would have said?

Let's not forget that hot chicks now play a major roll in a lot of hunting shows.
