Can wait for cooler temps after this rain. I always get new deer moving in starting around the 7th and after this time of the year. Even though my one tag for over 13" is used, I would still like to see a good buck. Maybe even get my 87 yr old uncle on one last good buck. Rut is getting ready to start any day and my oats should really take off(if the army worms will go away bang).

Action has been picking up at our place, the two weeks before Thanksgiving always seem to be the best for us.

Tres, I'm your neighbor's son from across the road. Last weekend, I alone saw 17 different bucks and 15 doe Sat/Sun. Dad saw 10-12 bucks. Never had a weekend like that before. Had my 7 y/o in the stand with me....he's totally captivated with hunting and ready to shed some blood. His ol Paw is going to buy him a rifle for next weekend, so hopefully we can get him on his first doe. The bucks appear very interested; the doe are on the verge. I would bet this weekend will be hopping. Good luck!

Cool, that's great to hear. Congrats on the one you got last year, heck of a buck! Good luck to you and the boy as well. If you're out there next weekend swing by for a visit. cheers

Thank you sir! We had to keep a close eye on Paul for a while....it was touch and go as to whether he would maintain the will to live. But I think he's rebounded!

roflmao I did LOL a few times thinking about that, I know he hunted him hard. Just pulled up the thread from last year that I hadn't seen. I barely had time to hunt last year, didn't even take a doe.

He'll tell you that "poor folk gotta work for a living" and that's why he wasn't in the stand that afternoon. I was hunting in that field next to the county road, just before you come down the creek hill. When I shot, he was standing on the front porch and let out a squall that I could hear from the stand. He knew at that moment the chase was over!
