What age do you think?

This is one I left last year, how old you think in this pic? I convinced myself he was 3.5

What time of the year was the pic from? Lot of gray on the nose, forehead and around the eyes. Lot of width in the brisket in between the front legs also.

He has the face of a much older buck but I have seen a few 3 yr olds with really grey faces like that. His brisket is more of a 5 yr old but his neckline to it does not fit a 5 yr old. Do you have a pic that shows him broadside or full body pic?

Well I do but it is on my laptop, I leave at the lease. I was just going through pics had on my phone. There was just something about this deer, that said he was young to me.

How did he act around younger bucks and older bucks?

Never saw him with more mature deer, but really didn't seem to pose any threat to the little guys. They didn't seem to mind him like he was the alpha. The only thing that made him seem older, was he roamed a little more, I had him at diff . Feeder pretty far away. I think what got me, was he was so slick and straight, every thing tied together good.

I know when I hunted Stonewall and Kent counties the bucks covered lots of ground. That up and down red wash country was tough on the deer. Those bucks never really showed their age like they did in others areas I hunted. During the rut the bucks really got run down and never looked their age. How old was the buck on the left in your sig pic? Was it from the same ranch?

He was 4.5, I should have let him go, he fooled me pretty bad, he was after a doe. Yes same place, same stand. Yes they do travel here in Hall county, had a big 8, traveling over 4 miles between feeders. He got poor in a hurry. Lol
