Fanning County rut? - 10/24/14 12:35 PM

Bow hunting in Fannin County this year, Land owner says rut is sometimes between Thanksgiving and dec 10....
For all you Riverby ranch hunters ( surrounds us) what do you normally say is the best RUT schedule?
Appreciate your input.....

Usually see a lot of pre rut first week of November, heats up towards thanksgiving. Dec. 1 is a good time also.

We'll based on the answers I will hunt the ......2nd week of November and the first week of December...
Looking to get a little more clarification on peak rut?

Let's go best two out of three?

Maybe we can establish a base line....

I have lived in Fannin my whole life, if I had to pin point peak, I would say 11/15 thru 11/25 , IMO. That being said,I have to say through the years, hunting, feeding cattle, and just being out on a daily basis, I have seen rut activity from Nov. 1 till mid Jan. I hope this helps.

I've shot two nice bucks on my small property North of Honey Grove:

November 17, 2013
December 17, 2012

Both were in full rut mode...

Got a text just today from a guy who helps me out with some projects at the farm. He said a big buck ran in front of his truck on CR 100 in the middle of the day and just stood there with his nose in the air turning in circles. Completely ignored the truck. loco
