New To Forum! - 10/23/14 08:00 PM

Hey guys and gals. I am new to the forum and thought I would post some of our game cam pics from this season. We have been trying to shoot the right deer for the past 3-4 years and we are starting to see the results. I have 2 bucks that I am hunting. We don't see that many deer that are more than 10's or many that are mature, so the first is called "The 11 point". This is the 3rd year of pics that we have of him so I'm assuming he is 4.5-5.5 depending on which pic I am looking at of him.. Any help on that would be appreciated. The second deer is one we call "Crab Claw". I had my shot at him Tuesday evening at 25 yds and he jumped my string. I was sick that I blew my chance, as I have only killed 3 deer (no bucks) with my bow. Any age on him would be appreciated as well. Hopefully he will be back. Thanks for looking and I look forward to meeting some people on this forum.

RedSnake, I live in Sweetwater, but we hunt on the Coke/Runnels county line outside of Bronte. No giants, but decent free range deer. These are corn fed only. May have to start feeding some protein. Biggest deer to date is 138". We are hoping with a little management, we can have some in the 140's. We previously only had 300 acres to work with and now we leased the pasture to the North of us and we now have right at 700 acres.

Good luck this season. I hear the deer overall are looking better than ave for the area.

Thanks guys. Crab Claw is one we would like to shoot. We used to have a bunch of those deer with that same "Crab Claw" so we want to get him out. Should be a good year. We are seeing a lot better deer this year. And a whole bunch of yearlings. Almost every doe has twins this year.
