Hunters Supporting Hunters - IMPORTANT - 10/18/14 11:30 PM

Most of us are guilty of it, but it may be something we should think about...so many folks in the world are trying to strip us of our God given right to pursue game and when I get on these online forums all I see is hunters tearing down hunters for their weapon choice, age of animal killed or degrade someones hunting experience based on a fence. There is not a problem with disagreeing and having a healthy debate, but it has gotten to the point on here and many other places to where it is disgraceful. We should be building the hunting community up instead of tearing each other down. As long as it is legal it is hunting. I may disagree with shooting young bucks, but it is that persons right to shoot them. All I am saying is I am sorry for doing my share of tearing down and needed a reminder that we are in this together. Also I started a FB page here--> https://www.facebook.com/hunterssupporthunters I am in need of some people interested in being admins and help me build and grow this community and effort. There is no pay and no income whatsoever lol but it could be fun and a worthy effort. If interested let me know!

I completely agree. While there is ways room for differing opinions, should also be open to helping others learn the proper way/techniques of hunting and responsible conservation of all animals.

I view this like two brothers that fight over the frosting spoon after gramma ices the cake. But if your an outsider you better take care when you square up to one of 'em.

I appreciate the temper of your post, but unfortunately that's just the way some people are. When I first started on here a few years ago it seemed no matter what question I brought here or what idea I wanted to bounce off of the forum there were a couple of guys that were just incredulous that the thought would ever enter my mind. Ninety-nine percent of the people on here are courteous and helpful but some people just suffer from assaholism.

I suffer from assaholism because I disagree. There are certain things that are legal that I don't find ethical. Someone's weapon choice, style of hunting, age of the animal shot, or size of the antlers doesn't matter to me. But taking marginal shots, increasing possibility of injuring and not recovering an animal, or intential acts of assaholism bother me.

People are passionate about hunting and have strong opinions. I like hearing the varying sides but some take it a step too far and very personal. Also, some just argue for the sake of arguing and enjoy the anonymity of an Internet forum to puff their chest. I agree with the spirit of the original post but never see it changing. cheers

These things are welcome and appreciated. However, that is not what the OP or I were getting at. What I was referring to, and the OP I believe too, are the guys that, while hiding behind a screen name, call others names, try to humiliate, question others intelligence and/or scruples and are just generally d!cks, and they do it repeatedly on many threads on many forums. They disagree with a guy about if it's worth to do this or that and next thing its, "You freaking stupid moron idiot! I can't believe that you would even think about that! I only ever use a variable power scope. Anyone who does otherwise is carrying a pair of ovaries! Are you some sort of moronic idiot clown fool punk douche bag? Get the he!! out of here." That's what I was getting at. From what I remember about you you're level headed, helpful, and complimentary on here.

These issues are the very reason I only have 164 posts in 6 years. I found it much easier to simply read what I want and not bother with all of the elite hunters that are far too willing to spread their views as absolute truth.
