Shoot a skinny injured doe?

Shoot a skinny injured doe? - 10/14/14 02:32 AM

Been out with my bow quite a bit and have a group of 8 that comes in often made up of little ones, does, and a spike or two. One of the more mature does has a messed up front foot. She limps really bad and is VERY skinny. Id like to take her to put her out of her misery, but she is SO skinny, wouldn't get much meat off of her. Should I take her out anyways or shoot a healthy doe and just let nature take its course on the injured doe?

I have seen deer live through some things that I did not think they could. I usually opt to let mother nature run her course, but I have not seen the doe. If she is very old and raised a fawn(s) this year that could have drug her down also along with the injury. Could it be hoof rot also???
