Few Bucks on my Place

Few Bucks on my Place - 10/13/14 11:39 PM

Hey yall, hope all are well. I wanted to share a few of the bucks on the little piece of land I hunt. It is low fence, 305 acre tract. I pulled the cards today and business was as usual around most of the place. However, my little hole in the woods had three better than average bucks on them. Now, I am in an AR county and will only get my shot at one of these guys. Was hoping I could get some opinions on them. Score, age, etc. Thanks for all the responses in advance. Hope everyone has a successful season.

This one never stands still long enough for a photo. Always walking or facing to the side. But he has got some interesting tines.

That G2 is pretty cool. Good luck shootin him before he busts those kickers off fighting.

The last buck is very nice. Really like those bladed browtines. If he is wide enough, he would be a tough buck to pass for me.

I would vote for buck number 3 for the one I'd like to shoot the most. Although looking at him he looks only about 4 from the side view, which really makes me think of what he might be next year. But on the amount of land you hunt LF I would probably have a very hard time letting him walk. Good luck up

Same thought. Based on age, the 9 with the small crab would be the target, but on that place I would probably take the last one....but he could be an absolute toad in another year or so. Consistency, history and neighbors would be the determining factor for me.

That third buck is pretty awesome with those tines and kickers! He does look a bit younger, I would prob still take him though on a LF with neighbors that are more than happy to shoot him.

If you do decide to pass on him, buck #2 is pretty cool too. Love the coloring on him.

Thanks for the responses yall. I would love to pass on number 3 for another year. However, the area has quite a few locals that are brown and down kind of guys. Game Warden even notified me that he busted my neighbor and his daughter killing several deer over their limit. We even got a call about poachers on our place last year. And we never caught them. I know how the saying goes. "If your worried about letting him walk because a neighbor might shoot him, you are that neighbor." But unfortunately for me I truly believe this deer wont get a pass from anybody else in the area. Ill keep yall posted. Thanks for all the responses.

Ever since I started hunting, my stepdad always told me if you like him, shoot him. Don't have to apologize to anybody for it. Passing on a deer is always a risk, and can be hard to do. Especially if you are hunting on lower acreage LF place with lots of pressure around.

Deer like that walks onto the smaller property I hunt, he's gonna get lead poisoning.
