Monster buck on camera. How many points do you count?

Monster buck on camera. How many points do you count? - 08/08/14 09:31 PM

This is a high fenced buck that was released onto a property I work on in Irion County. He's got to be over 200". I'm not real good at judging big nontypicals like this. Maybe y'all have an idea. Spread looks to be about 22". I'm counting 21 points, maybe 22 or so depending on the length of some kickers. He's got a pretty nice drop tine near the left base. Red ear tags which are plainly visible, but I can't quite make out the numbers. Might have been some dust on the lense of my Nikon D4 digital SLR I bring to work with me for photo ops like this, which might explain some slight blur around the edges.

What do you think? Score? Age? Points?

I hope you wear your glasses when you drive, at least.

That pic is as clear as the water in west Texas.

17 pointer with a drop on the driver side, nice kicker on the passengers side and a #26 red tag.

See? This guy didn't have any problems seeing it. Of course, the close up pic helped, I'm sure.

Re: Monster buck on camera. How many points do you count? - 08/14/14 12:59 AM

He's got 6 points on his right side and 6 with a drop on his left.

The picture is slightly blurred so I can't tell if he scored 206 or 207 3/8.

Just testing out uploading an image, zoomed in on the deer. Looks like the one on the right might not be too bad next year.

Yeah, there's several young bucks in there with a ton of potential.

you can look through clear binoculars at a buck like that, and not see every point until you put your hands on him....no way to even get close with that pic

Maybe your eyes are going bad, because that pic is clearer than the finest Swarovski binos on the market.

Its like playing where's Waldo? Even with the second pic as a reference I still can't see him in the first. Even with my boinic improved vision - so frustrating.

If you wait to pull the trigger on that buck you worry to much about score. Then again that's why I will not pay by the inch.

Great buck period.

Must be my eyes then...still stand behind what I said when it comes to not seeing everything on a deer like that
