New Scope

I need some input from you guys on scopes please. My fiance wants to buy me a new scope for my .243 Winchester for Christmas and I don't know much about them or prices, I just know I want a new one. She's game for spending up to 400 on it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Man You should buy a 400.00 dollar scope but I'm broke lol so I would buy a nikon or (redfield revolution they are made buy leapould) and I've Owend and still have one mounted on my 218b they can ge pricey as well but look online or some guys have great deals on the forum but a 3-9x40 seems plenty but you can buy a 2or300 dollar scope and then with th left over cash buy some shells to sight her in good luck

For that price check SWFA or Cameraland for specials. Can usually pick up a Zeiss Conquest for that or under, very good scopes for the money.

Can't go wrong with a Nikon

carters country has the zeiss 3-9x40 for $399 right now. I don't think you will get a better (new) $400 scope anywhere...

Get a nikon with 50mm objective, you will thank yourself later.

Another vote on the Zeiss Conquest. Excellent scope.

Debatable of course and while the Conquest is a nice scope, I think there are a few options under $400 I would recommend over it. Granted these are open box scopes but in my experience they are like new. All these have pretty much the same or better glass quality but with better features.
