he's either two and a half or three and a half, my honest guess would be two. it depends some on where this is too. he's obviously a heavier deer with decent antler characteristics. but if he's a south texas deer or a northern deer then that's natural. he's going to look big already in comparision to a hill country deer.
as far as shooting him. it depends on the property you are on. if you are on a very large ranch with extensive an trophy management program then he could potentially merit culling next year. on some properties he's already a trophy. on most places though i would say he deserves to grow another year or two. i would give him two more years.
2.5 -3.5 and I don't think anybody will be shootin' this deer! Can't ya'll see he only comes out at night and run's in the day! Next year if no improvement!

we are seeing him on about 300acres, low fence, deep east texas.

nah, he's still dumb. He doesn't hang out around the feeders during the daytime (except for at daylight opening morning), but he frequents the front end of a hayfield.
Next year opening mornin' be at that feeder have a kid at that feeder! If he's a no show then I'd be at the hayfield! Well atleast you have him patterned! Call me if a kid smack's him I wanna video it!
