Im sure this has been discussed over and over so my appologies. Ive been considering buying a used atv for awhile now. I've decided to go ahead and do it. Name the first 5 or the top 5 things you look for when buying a used 4 wheeler. Thanks

Torn CV boots( poss bad axles)
Big mud tires (poss abused)
Snorkels (poss abused)
Jack it up and wiggle the tires to check for bad bearings (can be $$$)
Racks and handle bars that are bent (poss damage from roll over)

spliced wiring - it'll likely corrode
at some point and leave you stranded.
a bunch of spliced wires near the ignition
says "STOLEN AT SOME POINT- DO NOT BUY ! "
check battery terminals for corrosion/fraying/signs
of frequent battery removal.
shifter with excess play.
exhaust leaks.
excessive tire repair plugs.
cracked plastic.
excessive rust underneath.
leaky shocks/forks/suspension.
oily residue underneath.

all of bigpig's suggestions

Don't buy anything from east Texas. Snorkels lift big tires. Of course appearance helps to and prefer adult owner

All the above and check all fluids.

I also an observant person and I kind of look and see if the guy's other vehicles/toys are taken care of. If they are, then good chance this was too.
